About
Welcome to Restaurant La Grange, a hidden culinary gem nestled in the picturesque town of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, France. Located at 23 Av. Frédéric Mistral, this charming eatery has garnered a loyal following among both locals and visitors alike, thanks to its welcoming atmosphere and exquisite menu centered around fresh seafood and quality ingredients.
Upon entering, you are greeted with a warm smile and the scent of deliciously grilled fish that makes your mouth water. The restaurant’s commitment to quality is evident in every dish, as noted by patrons who rave about the moules farcies and expertly grilled options like sea bream and loup. Karlan Stephenson aptly describes it as a "grilled fish restaurant extraordinaire," capturing the essence of what La Grange aims to deliver: an unforgettable dining experience.
Family-friendly and inviting, Restaurant La Grange prides itself on prompt and professional service. The feedback from customers like Thomas Williams emphasizes the combination of genuinely nice service and superb food that leaves a lasting impression. It is a place where one can comfortably gather with family or friends, knowing they will be treated to, as one reviewer said, “great food” that is absolutely recommendable.
For those who appreciate the joy of a bustling dining environment, the restaurant's popularity is a testament to its quality. Laurence Duffell's experience of a packed house highlights the vibrant atmosphere, while also mentioning the ample selection of dishes. From delightful starters, including salads with crispy lardons and fresh mozzarella, to sumptuous mains such as sea bream paired with Mediterranean rice or flavorful entrecôte steak with garlic potato gratin, the offerings are mouth-watering and crafted to please.
Moreover, the homemade touch resonates deeply with visitors like maryline A., who relished the “amazing experience” and praised the quality of the fresh products. The friendly atmosphere created by the owner only adds to the charm, making a visit feel like you’re dining with family. Don’t miss out on their exquisite ox meat; it is a dish that showcases the heart of their kitchen.
Lastly, I highly recommend trying the Camargues rice as a delightful alternative to regular fries, as suggested by Stefan Iarca. This attention to detail and the hand-crafted nature of the dishes make Restaurant La Grange a remarkable stop on your culinary journey. Whether you opt for seafood or indulge in some beef skewers, each bite reflects their commitment to quality and flavor.
If you find yourself in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, make sure to visit Restaurant La Grange. You will likely leave with a happy heart and a satisfied palate, eager to return for more.
“ Very nice service in a family restaurant and great food. Absolutely recommendable. ”
“ Very good local Camargue style food in an otherwise very touristy area. The 18.5E lunch time meal is excellent value. ”
“ We tried the bull and duck - it was perfect. The desserts were good as well and they offer nice beer. The staff is quick and polite. The prices are on the higher side but justified considering the quality. The menu can be explored in many languages on a tablet - and it shows pictures for most dishes so you know what you will amount wise. The bull you can get here is locally sourced and high quality. Often enough you have musicians coming by and performing. We had a guy playing the violin and performing iconic songs including the godfather theme. Important - You may want to reserve a table if you plan to come here with more than 2 people. The restaurant is well known both to locals and tourists and often entirely full. ”
“ We had an amazing experience at this charming restaurant in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer! A big part of the menu is homemade with fresh, high-quality products, which really makes a difference. The owner is incredibly friendly and pleasant, making us feel right at home. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the second night! The ox meat we tried was absolutely delicious. You can go there with confidence – you won’t be disappointed! ”
“ We managed to get a late booking. It was a good thing as the restaurant was heaving, as indeed was Saintes-Maries. Service was a bit slow but not inconvenient. They have a large selection of fish and beef meals, Lovely starters, in our case, a salad with croutons, lardons, egg and salad leaves with a lovely dressing and a tomato and mozzarella salad again with a lovely pesto dressing. Mains were Sea Bream fillets with a pot of mediterranean rice and an entrecote steak, mushrooms and a very garlic flavoured potato gratin. Finally, Isle Flotant, always a favourite. Drinks, an alcohol free cocktail and a Pression beer. Remarkably, all this for €24 per person excluding drinks. This is excellent value and as long as you don't mind waiting a bit, definitely worth a visit. ”
“ Grilled fish restaurant extraordinaire! Welcomed warmly with prompt professional service. The moules farcies was delicious as was the grilled sea bream & the loup. Top pick! ”
“ Very friendly restaurant, good starters, lovely main courses. Service was super friendly and fast. Try the camargues rice instead of the regular fries, the sardines, the bull skewers. All is hand made. ”
